    Blogsvertise is a blog advertising website that works to connect advertisers and bloggers in an online marketplace. The advertisers pay for a sponsored blog entry, which contains links to the advertiser's website.

    While the concept is good, Blogsvertise's execution is poor. First of all, the link quality an advertiser receives on Blogsvertise is quite poor. There are multiple reasons for this. First off, Blogsvertise rarely updates their database of blogs, so many blogs are presented as being stronger (having a higher PR) than they actually do. Secondly, the quality of the blogs on Blogsvertise are poor themselves, so links on those blogs are also poor. Blogsvertise's selection process for bloggers is sub-par in the eyes of many advertisers. While they claim their bloggers are first rate, they accept any blogger who submits a blog that is at least 30 days old. Many of Blogsvertise's competition requires their blogs to be a minimum of 90 days old to participate in the program. The most important thing in the blog advertising arena is trust between blogger and reader. It's nearly impossible for a blogger to have a loyal community of readers built up when the blog is only 30 days old.

    Blogsvertise offers decent pricing for their sponsored blog entries, but the price is also a reflection of the quality of the blog. So while it may appear that some blog entries are priced quite well, the advertiser is simply getting the quality he/she paid for.

    Now where Blogsvertise really fails is in its Customer Service and Response Time. Customer Service is virtually non-existent. A simple email may take a week to receive a response, if you receive one at all. And the Response Time of getting your sponsored blog entry written and posted can take several weeks. One project that I personally posted has not been completed in over 2 months.

    PayPerPost operates as a website to connect advertisers and bloggers. The site works in much the same way as many other blog advertising agencies available, in that an advertiser submits a blog ad campaign, and a blogger is found to post on the advertisement.

    PayPerPost generally offers decent Blog Quality. However, an advertiser has to go through A LOT of work to find that quality blog. Submitting an ad campaign can be a long and confusing process. The advertiser has countless options to choose from on the type of campaign, ad, blog, and blogger they want to use. While this is good in theory, Payperpost makes the process confusing with all the new terms they have coined to explain the process. The advertiser has a choice between the type of ad they want the blogger to write: buzz, review or opinion. While this sounds straightforward, it's just a headache and shows that PayPerPost has gone the extra mile, right over the cliff in trying to appeal to their clients. All the options become more of an hindrance than an advantage - in the end, an advertiser is simply purchasing a post on a blog with links to the advertiser's website. Enough with all the complications!

    The Link Quality also suffers due to PayPerPost's requirement for bloggers to qualify each blog entry with a disclaimer stating that the entry is sponsored by an advertiser. Many SEO experts believe that Google can identify these sponsored blog entries and then negates any benefits from such sponsored links. Of course, if this is the case, then this renders the advertisement completely useless of SEO value and a total waste of advertising funds.

    Blogads offers a slightly different service than many others in the blog advertising arena. Blogads does not work to connect bloggers and advertisers; they have a more integral role in the process. Advertisers tell Blogads what they are looking for, and then Blogads finds a blog to advertise on. Blogads creates visual ad banners for advertisers to be uploaded to blogs, with placement at the top, side, or even within the content of the site. The blog may not even have anything to do with the ads appearing at its borders.

    Blogads provides a valuable service to companies looking for banner ads with both an image and text links. SEO text link value along with image advertising is a strong strategy, but in this case, it’s very costly. Blogads campaigns can cost $150-$10,000 a month. Your budget may be better spent diversifying your approach. Readers are increasingly becoming numb to the sight of banner ads, advertising images, and flash ads. If you are still convinced banner ads are the route for you, make sure to integrate a blog link campaign into your overall marketing strategy in order to have any impact in organic search rankings.

    ReviewMe has a marketplace of bloggers who provide a review of a product or service on their blog. ReviewMe is a subsidiary of Media Whiz, which has a large pool of Advertisers and Bloggers. The resources of ReviewMe are vast and their website is even vaster. There are a lot of sites and a lot of sites of low quality. ReviewMe doesn't provide a lot of value for their service, which is only reviews. The price of a review can be as much as $150 and your link may only be on the home page of a PR2 blog for one day. One the other hand, ReviewMe is the perfect medium for bloggers to get paid a good sum to write a review. ReviewMe is good for a review once in a while, but is far from a total SEO solution.

    Similar to ReviewMe, SponsoredReviews matches Advertisers with Bloggers. SponsoredReviews has a nice interface to find what you are looking for and the reviews are of better value than ReviewMe. You can filter using variable such as price, page rank and topic. The blogs generally have a poorer page rank than the sites on ReviewMe and the SEO value isn't as high. Using SponsoredReviews to find a blog to post a review and build brand buzz can be helpful, but it's one aspect of an entire SEO strategy. Any links in a review usually remain on the home page of a blog for 1-2 days and then drop to an internal page with lower or zero page rank. There is some short term value to a review campaign with SponsoredReviews, but that's it.
